Thomas Small came here in 1767 from Cape Elizabeth. He settled on land near what is is now known as Small’s Cove. He lived here with his wife Sarah Roberts until his death in 1827. We do not know where Sarah is buried, but she also died in 1827.
Thomas and Sarah Roberts Small had eleven children:

Abigail “Nabby,” who married William Sellers, Jr.;

Joseph B., who married Mary Chase Pettingill;
Lydia , who married Simon Smith;
Benjamin, who married Mary Muzzy Lunt
